[Cleartalk deploys CDMA network from Nortel offering Texas customers flat-rate voice plans using Cleartalk's newly acquired AWS spectrum.]

Tornto, Ontario -- Flat Wireless, a limited liability company (LLC) doing business as Cleartalk in Texas, has deployed a CDMA network from Nortel to deliver high quality, mobile communications to customers with flat-rate voice plans, unlimited services like text messaging, long-distance calling and web surfing. With the new network, Cleartalk will now be able to extend their unlimited services to customers in Amarillo and Lubbock.

With Nortel's versatile solution, Cleartalk can deliver these popular services to new markets in both rural and highly populated areas of Texas to take advantage of its recently acquired Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) spectrum. The CDMA network is capable of supporting the growing subscriber demands in these markets with superior performance and low total cost of ownership.

"We have partnered with Nortel to deliver a world-class wireless service to our customers powered by Nortel's CDMA solution that is critical to our business objectives for delivering a differentiated service," said Kevin Beierschmitt, president and chief executive officer, Flat Wireless. "Our network from Nortel scales to support our unlimited usage plans and allowed us to quickly deploy and launch service in Amarillo and Lubbock. The network also provides us with a solid foundation to cost-effectively support growth and expansion in the future to continue exceeding our customer's expectations."

"Cleartalk brings a simple yet powerful service to meet needs of consumers and local businesses over the newly acquired spectrum and our high-quality, all-IP digital wireless network will provide their subscribers with a versatile suite of features and services," said Danny Locklear, vice president, Carrier Networks Marketing, Nortel. "Nortel's CDMA network is a great choice for Cleartalk because it provides subscribers with an advanced wireless voice and data solution that leverages both Nortel's leadership in deploying commercial CDMA networks globally for more than a decade and over three decades of Nortel's digital switching experience in IP Core. CDMA continues to be an excellent technology choice providing a competitive edge to operators and a service that will attract new subscribers and help build a loyal customer base."

Cleartalk is operating a high capacity network that delivers crystal clear voice to their subscribers using Nortel's new ATCA-based Packet Mobile Switching Centre to provide a versatile suite of voice and data services. The new network also uses Nortel's high-density Media Gateway 15000, providing Cleartalk with a single platform to deliver best-in-class voice service by integrating voice quality improvement features directly into the IP-enabled voice path, yielding operational simplicity and low cost of ownership.

The network also includes Nortel's industry leading Enhanced Base Station Controller and Base Stations that are designed and built with unique innovations in Power Amplifiers and Transceivers. This technology provides significant reductions in power consumption creating a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly network. The network will operate in the 1.7/2.1 GHz frequency of Cleartalk's recently acquired AWS spectrum.
